what is THE SUNSHINE PROJECT?

Established in 2022 by the Fuquay-Varina Junior Woman’s Club, The Sunshine Project sends snacks and shelf-stable meals to 20 local elementary, middle and high schools monthly. These donations help to feed students ages 5-18 who face food insecurity at home. The items are kept in sunshine-yellow bins in each school’s office and can be accessed discreetly by students.

How can i support this cause?

We’re glad you asked! There are many ways to raise awareness of The Sunshine Project and help us keep it going!

Our Amazon Wish List is a quick and easy way to purchase food and have it sent directly to our club to be distributed to Fuquay-Varina schools.

Make a tax deductible donation to FVJWC and specify “Sunshine” in the memo. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Each school’s monthly delivery amounts to ~$100!

Spread the word! Share this link on your social media pages, in your Bible study, with your colleagues, etc. As awareness grows, so will the impact of this project!
