GFWC Collect for Club Women

Keep us, oh God, from pettiness;
let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.

Let us be done with fault-finding
And leave off self-seeking.

May we put away all pretense
And meet each other face to face
without self-pity and without prejudice.

Let us take time for all things;
make us grow calm, serene, gentle.

Teach us to put into action our better impulses,
straight-forward and unafraid.

Grant that we may realize it is
The little things that create differences,
That in the big things of life we are at one.

And may we strive to touch and to know
The great, common human heart of us all.
And, oh Lord God, let us forget not to be kind!

The GFWC-FV Junior Woman's Club was chartered in July 1987 with 25+ members. The first project was the "Beautiful Baby Contest" at the Two Flags Over Fuquay-Varina Celebration. More than $700 was raised and donated to the March of Dimes. Today, there are 16 members, and the major fund raising event is the Annual Charity Ball held in November. The club completes many projects during the year with the club's six programs providing focus. This year, our club will continue to focus on supporting causes, projects and charities right here in Fuquay-Varina. We look forward to sharing more soon!

Organization

The Fuquay-Varina Junior Woman's Club is a member of the national General Federation of Woman's Clubs.  Being involved with a national organization offers benefits to our members and our community.

Members attend meetings at District, State and National levels to learn, share ideas and form friendships. Members have the opportunity grow their leadership skills by holding office at these different levels.

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is an international women’s organization founded in 1890 that is dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

GFWC has eight community service programs and special project areas.  They also partner with other organizations who line up with their mission.  This organization serves both our local and global communities.

Collectively, we are Living the Volunteer Spirit.
